Coastal Children’s Services (CCS) is recruiting a full-time board certified/eligible neonatologist to join our team of 7 neonatologists and 11 neonatal nurse practitioners. We provide neonatology services in the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the Betty H. Cameron Women and Children’s Hospital at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC), as well as in 3 surrounding Level II NICU’s in medical facilities throughout southeastern North Carolina.  Our pediatric team also includes pediatric intensivists, pediatric hospitalists, pediatric/family nurse practitioners and pediatric subspecialists in gastroenterology, endocrinology, neurology and pulmonology.

NHRMC is a 628-bed, major referral hospital for southeastern North Carolina with over 4000 deliveries per year and over 640 annual admissions to the NICU. The Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital is a 45-bed single-patient room referral NICU which also includes a High Risk Antepartum, Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby Unit, as well as a 17 bed Inpatient Pediatric Unit and a 6 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU
Opportunities to participate in quality improvement, research and education are on-going. Our team:

Excellent opportunity for a full time NNP to join a growing neonatology practice serving southeastern North Carolina. The candidate will join a team of seven neonatologists and twelve nurse practitioners providing coverage for a 45-bed Level III NICU located within New Hanover Regional Medical Center in coastal Wilmington, NC. The hospital is a regional referral center and many pediatric subspecialty services are offered. Rotation to Level II NICUs located in the region may also be required. The hired NNP will be responsible for clinical assessment and management, procedures, high-risk delivery attendance, emergency resuscitation and stabilization, and neonatal ground transport. Many opportunities to participate in research and continuing education are available. Rotating 12 and 24 hour shifts.

Excellent opportunity for a full time Pediatric Intensivist for a growing practice serving southeastern North Carolina. This person will be joining two full-time Pediatric Intensivists in the Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital. The PICU both supports and is supported by a broad range of sub-specialties, including but not limited to Pediatric Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, and Neurology.

Qualifications:

Education:
• BE/BC in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine & Pediatrics.
• BE/BC in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.

License/Certifications:
• North Carolina Medical License

The position of Pediatric Endocrinologist will provide care to infants and children in southeastern North Carolina. This additional position alongside the current Pediatric Endocrinologist and dedicated FNP, would primarily reside in the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC). NHRMC has a 17-bed general pediatrics inpatient unit, a six bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a 45-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a Newborn Observation Unit, and Pediatric Outpatient Clinic. Our Pediatric Hospitalist and Intensivist team, along with three experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioners will be providing continuous inpatient coverage to infants and children admitted to the hospital and will provide support for patients of the Pediatric Endocrinology Service. NHRMC also employs three certified diabetes educators (CDE), one additional diabetic/endocrine nurse, and a nutritionist. The diabetes clinic is accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) and currently serves about 350 diabetic patients.
Responsibilities for the position will include providing inpatient Pediatric Endocrinology consultation at NHRMC and outpatient Pediatric Endocrinology consultation in the Nunnelee Pediatric Subspecialty Clinic at the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital. There is also an expectation to conduct outreach clinics in Jacksonville and Lumberton, NC approximately once a month. Additional satellite clinics may be planned to serve children in surrounding rural communities as needed. Call coverage will be shared.
This position offers the potential for a clinical academic appointment through the University of North Carolina. Opportunity for clinical research is available for those who are interested.

The Pediatric Cardiologist will provide care for infants and children in communities throughout southeastern North Carolina. Candidates board certified (or board eligible) in pediatric cardiology who are interested in contributing to a growing service will be considered, with preference given to those with practice experience focused in fetal echocardiography.

This position will primarily reside in the new Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinics located at Autumn Hall, 510 Carolina Bay Drive, Suite 200. Inpatient consultations and some procedures will be performed at the Betty H. Cameron Women’s and Children’s Hospital at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NHRMC).  NHRMC has a 17-bed general pediatrics inpatient unit, a six bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a 45-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a Newborn Observation Unit, and a Pediatric Outpatient Clinic. Our inpatient pediatric team of hospitalists, intensivists and nurse practitioners provide continuous inpatient coverage to infants and children admitted to the hospital and will provide support for patients of the Pediatric Cardiologist Service.

Responsibilities for the position will include providing outpatient pediatric cardiology care and inpatient consultation. There is also an expectation to conduct monthly outreach clinics in Jacksonville, Lumberton, & Whiteville, NC. Additional satellite clinics may be added over time to serve children in surrounding rural communities.

This position includes a clinical academic appointment through the University of North Carolina. Opportunities to participate in pediatric clinical research are available for those who are interested.
